Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg LLP is a midsized Chicago Loop law firm seeking a File Clerk for its Recorde Department. Principal Duties & Responsibilities Scans physical files into electronic document management system (iManage) Destroys files approved for destruction Updates file status in file tracking system (FileTrail) Maintains the client files within the central filing room Collaborates with Records Team on any other designated projects Backup reception duties when the primary receptionist is away for breaks, lunch, or time off: Greet visitors and check-in guests Reserve conference rooms Answer calls via Microsoft Teams and transfer the calls to the appropriate person Enter guests into the security system Validate parking vouchers Other reception duties as requested Qualifications Strong analytical interpersonal and organizational skills Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities, and work within a target deadline; ability to work before or after standard hours to meet job demands Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to lift 25 lbs. and/or push a cart of boxes Ability to sit for long periods of time Ability to stand for a length of time at a photocopier Ability to bend, reach, twist and push while sitting or standing PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Compensation The expected salary range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000 per year. Actual pay will be based on experience, education, job-related knowledge, market indicators and internal pay equity.
